Description
Elevate your dining experience with our exquisite handcrafted wooden bowls, designed to enrich the practice of mindful eating—a tradition cherished by Zen monks for over 2,500 years. In our fast-paced world, where distractions are abundant, renowned physician and author Giulia Enders reminds us that stress and multitasking can inhibit digestion. By being present during meals, we not only enhance our appreciation of flavors, aromas, and colors but also better attune to our body’s needs.
Our bowls are inspired by the centuries-old tradition of Zen monks, who receive a robe and a set of eating bowls upon graduation—a symbol of mindfulness and simplicity. These bowls, often cherished for a lifetime and passed down to disciples, are meticulously crafted with intention and purpose.
Handmade in a serene mountain village by Master Dae Won, a revered Korean artisan, our bowls are carved from Ginkgo Biloba, also known as temple wood. Each bowl undergoes a meticulous process, lacquered in countless layers with a secret natural resin recipe, ensuring durability and a lustrous finish.
The seal on the bottom of the largest bowl, inscribed with “Great Perfection,” signifies the highest quality and craftsmanship, akin to the legendary Stradivarius violins. Previously reserved exclusively for Zen monks in Korea, these bowls are not available on other websites, stores or shops. Now available here to enhance your culinary rituals and bring a touch of timeless tradition into your home.
Discover the profound beauty and functionality of our wooden bowls—perfect for those who seek to embrace mindfulness and elevate their dining experience. Each bowl is a testament to the artistry and dedication of Master Dae Won, promising a unique and enriching addition to your table.
